Chief – William Elliott - welliott@ionafire.com
Chief Elliott has served the citizens of the District for 25 years. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1985, Battalion Chief in 2003, and Chief in 2006. Chief Elliott holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Florida State University, completed the National Fire Academy Chief Officer Training, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Florida Gulf Coast University. He is now serving as the President of the Lee County Fire Chief’s Association and also serves on the Education Committee at Edison State College. Chief Elliott is married and has two children, both in college. |

Deputy Chief – Chad Jorgensen - jorgensen@ionafire.com
Chad began his fire service career in 1986 in Orlando and relocated to the Fort Myers area in 1988 to begin his employment with Iona McGregor Fire District. He was promoted to Engineer in 1996 and to Lieutenant in 2001. During this time, he earned an Associate Degree in Fire Science and Emergency Medicine and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, and also became a Paramedic. In 2006, Chad was promoted to Operations Chief and then to Deputy Chief in the same year. Chad has trained extensively in Dive Rescue Operations. As one of the founding members of the Dive Team he served as Dive Master for IMFD from 1992 to 2006. Chad and his wife, Kelly have a six year old son. Chad has resided in Northeast Fort Myers for over 18 years and enjoys tinkering with old cars and helping Kelly with her horses. |

Administrative Assistant III, Administration – Cynthia Zinger, S.P.H.R. - czinger@ionafire.com
Cynthia has served the Iona McGregor Fire District since 2003, beginning as the Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Chief. Currently she holds the position of Administrative Assistant III, assisting the Chief and Deputy Chief in District Administration, as well as serving as Benefits Administrator. She is heavily involved in the Lee County Fire Chiefs’ Employment Testing Cooperative as well as local and national Human Resources organizations. |

Finance Director – Russell Baker, C.P.A. - rbaker@ionafire.com
Russ graduated from the University of South Florida in 1980 and joined the accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand. Russ has worked in both the public and private sectors. He was the Assistant Finance Director for the Charlotte County Clerk from 1988 to 1993, a partner in the accounting firm of Schultz, Chaipel, Redovan & Baker through 2006 and joined the Iona McGregor Fire District as Finance Director in January of 2007. Russ and his wife, Tina, have four children. |

Administrative Assistant III, Finance – Mildred (Milly) Nemes – mnemes@ionafire.com
Milly joined Iona McGregor in February, 2009 and brought with her a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, and some 30 years experience in office administration and accounting. In addition to running her own bookkeeping and secretarial service in Ohio, she previously worked for a C.P.A. firm and held the Administration Manager position of Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated in North Carolina before relocating to Florida. |
