Dave Howard began his fire service career in 1985 with the Iona McGregor Fire District. Dave has advanced through the ranks including Engineer/Apparatus operator, Lieutenant, and his current position as Chief. Dave is currently a Certified Life Safety Inspector, Fire Service Instructor, Public Information Officer, and Fire Investigator. Dave holds a degree in Fire Science and is working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Administration.

Seth Comer, Deputy Chief of Operations - comer@ionafire.com
Seth began his career with the Iona-McGregor Fire District in February of 1999, as a Firefighter/Paramedic. He was promoted to Engineer in December of 2003, and then to Lieutenant in March of 2007. He was promoted to the Division Chief of Emergency Medical Services and Fire Training in May of 2010.

Seth has completed the National Fire Academy’s Training Program Management curriculum, holds an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science, a Bachelor’s degree in Public Safety Management, and a Master’s degree in Administration. Seth has also recently attained the Certified District Manager (CDM) designation from the Florida Association of Special Districts.

Seth spent several years on the Southwest Florida Urban Search and Rescue Task Force Six team, holds technician level certification in multiple technical rescue disciplines and has managed the dive rescue training for several years. Seth holds certifications through Dive Rescue International as a Public Safety Scuba Instructor, Dive Rescue One instructor, and Dry Suit Instructor.

Seth is married to Jill and together they have two beautiful children, Carleigh and Gavin.

Cynthia has served the Iona McGregor Fire District since 2003, beginning as the Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Chief. Currently she holds the position of Administrative Assistant III, assisting the Chief and Deputy Chief in District Administration, as well as serving as Benefits Administrator. She is heavily involved in the Lee County Fire Chiefs’ Employment Testing Cooperative as well as local and national Human Resources organizations.


Finance Director – Mark Winzenread - winzenread@ionafire.com
Mark Winzenread, CPA, joined the Iona McGregor Fire District as Finance Director in August of 2013. Mark is a graduate of the University of South Florida and has held positions as Corporate Controller and area VP in the private sector. In the fifteen years prior to joining the Iona McGregor Fire District, Mark worked for an independent CPA firm as audit manager specializing in audits of local governments. Mark and his wife Kim have three children and two grandchildren.


Administrative Assistant III, Finance – Micki Munro – munro@ionafire.com Micki Munro, CPA, began working in the finance department in October 2014. She received her Bachelor's Degree and her Master's Degree in Accounting from Montana State University in Bozeman, MT. Since then she has had the opportunity be employed as an accountant by both the public and private sectors. She has also taught accounting in Montana and in Fort Myers, most recently at Florida South Western State College.

Micki lives with her rescue Scottish Terrier and her African Grey. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
