Joel A. Guzman, Battalion Chief of Logistics– guzman@ionafire.com
The Battalion Chief of Logistics is charged with managing the day-to-day operations and activities of the Iona McGregor Fire District’s logistics division. The Logistics division is composed of fleet maintenance, building and equipment maintenance, firefighter uniform and equipment, inventory, and the technology and communications program. Battalion Chief Joel A. Guzman was promoted in June of 2015.

Battalion Chief Guzman began his career in public safety in September of 1995, when he was hired as an Emergency Medical Technician for Lee County EMS. He quickly promoted to the position of Paramedic and remained employed at Lee County EMS for five years. While providing emergency medical care in Lee County, Florida, alongside many fire department staff, BC Guzman became interested in the fire service. On February of 2000, BC Guzman was hired by Lehigh Acres Fire and Rescue District, where he became certified as a Florida Firefighter.

BC Guzman transitioned to the Iona McGregor Fire District in 2003, where he has enjoyed a successful career. BC Guzman has promoted through the ranks and has served in the positions of Firefighter, Engineer, Lieutenant, and now Battalion Chief. BC Guzman also had the honor and privilege of being elected as a Fire Commissioner for an Independent Fire District, in Florida. He held the position of secretary/treasurer for the Fire Board.

He has continuously found ways to improve his skills knowledge and ability through training and education. He holds a Bachelors in Public Administration from Barry University and is currently in graduate school. BC Guzman also holds degrees in Fire Science and Emergency Medical Services Technology. He has been married for twenty years and has two teenage daughters.

Brad Whisler, Lead Apparatus Technician – whisler@ionafire.com
Brad came to Iona-McGregor in 2007, from North Naples Fire Department. He graduated in 1977, from York County School of Technology in York, PA with a degree in Auto Mechanics. He currently holds certifications as an ASE Master Automotive Technician, an ASE Master Medium and Heavy Truck Technician, and Emergency Vehicle Technician Certified. His 38 years of technical experience includes that of Service and Parts Manager of a new car dealership.

Art Stover, Assistant Apparatus Technician – stover@ionafire.com
Art began his employment in 2003, as Building Maintenance Technician, and was promoted to Assistant Apparatus Technician in 2004.

Gary Cooper, Building Maintenance Technician – cooper@ionafire.com
Gary has been a member of Iona McGregor since 2004, and handles the maintenance and repairs for our five fire stations.

Sue Huppelsberg, Administrative Assistant II – Huppelsberg@ionafire.com
Sue was hired as a receptionist in November 2003, and received a promotion in 2008. She currently serves as Logistics Administrative Assistant and assists the Finance department as well. She has been married for over 25 years, has one daughter and 4 grandchildren.
