Lynne Brown
Mrs. Brown was elected to the Iona McGregor Board of Commissioners, Seat 4, in November 2008 for a four year term. Lynne is originally from Columbus Ohio and has been a resident of Florida since 2002. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and taught fourth grade.
Her passion is historic preservation and has restored seven historic homes in the Upper Arlington (Ohio) Historic District and consulted in the restoration of Fire House #1, Jones Middle School and Barrington Elementary School. While living in Columbus, Lynne was elected to two terms on the Upper Arlington City Council, serving as Acting Mayor and Co-chair of the city’s Master Plan. While living in Virginia, she served as the Historic Preservation Planner for the Stafford County Planning and Community Development Department. She is very active in her community and was the Director of the Volunteer Pre-kindergarten State of Florida Program for Collier, Lee, Hendry and Glades Counties. Lynne is the author of Back Roads in Ohio and is a lifetime member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, currently serving as an advisor to the chapter at Florida Gulf Coast University. She currently serves as a member of the the Lee County Sheriff’s VOICE Officer Program. Lynne has completed the National Incident Management System 100 Training and participates in the Florida Association of Special Districts. Lynne has been married to Jeff for 38 years and they have two grown daughters and 5 grandchildren. |
